An emergency street phone in Brooklyn. This red box is part of my legendary images of the States, and it s a nice urban object! I was surprised to read this sentence... if u re in a hurry, u must find time to call AND to answer... good luck;)

Interesting picture of a phone to report an accident, it belongs to the character of the city, well captured and presented

I really like this one! I often stop to look at these old emergency boxes; I think they will disappear one day...Now most people have a mobile phone to call for help. Great job focusing on the colorful box, and including the nicely-blurred brownstones in the background. This is such a typical Brooklyn scene. Once again you had a great eye for local details. :-)

Well you know there must be plenty of punk kids who will hit that call button and run away thinking it's funny, hence the note!? I have to admit, I did that plenty of times myself with a neighbors doorbell...in my youth of course! :)
Love this shot for its simple observational opportunity. I don't think there are too many that would see this subject and think it to hold interest as a photo. Great depth of field here, the blurred background keeps focus on the call box but still allows the viewer to understand its relation to the neighborhood...that it's not just randomly placed in a high tourist area. Good placement as well, filling about a 1/3 of the frame. Great idea, the "ordinary" transformed into appealing. Nicely done!

Its too bad this photo isn't getting the props and credits it deserves!
Its actually a wonderful cultural photo, so perfect for TE.
as brenda would know (living in brooklyn) these old boxes will probably be gone one day. Great idea to capture this emergency box. I had no idea they existed.
