an early sunrise photo shoot became a morning at the seaside. I get up early in the dark, but it is hard to get out of the house. When I drove to the beach the sun was coming up around the mountain side. I stopped along PCH and took several photos but the real good colors were happening as I was driving. Has that ever happened to you?
So I kept driving to Leo Carrillo State Beach and got out my gear and hiked up to the bluffs. It is high tide this morning so I mostly stayed up on the bluffs although I did go down to one cove and took photos of the waves crashing on some rocks. They are okay but I like this one better. There were some fishermen on the rocks in the center but I don't think they are visible in the photo. I also saw a couple of scuba divers too. There is also a very small archway too. Such a lovely beach. I don't notice the time go by when I am out there taking pictures. I just get into the zone and watch the light change...
Please enjoy my photo...

Excellent shot indeed !
Nice mild golden light and the resulting colors
Well composed with a rather high horizon line and a couple of eye catching elements: the splash of water at FG which echoes the white cloud above it and the little blue hut at right (just a tad overexposed though)
Superb ! Bravo
all the best

Excellent use of the tripod and the slow shutter speed to blur the water. I'm not entirely convinced by the hut on the point in the middle distance, but maybe it adds a human note to your seascape. I note you've uploaded a large image: on my screen at least that means I can't see all of it at once (although I can go Ctrl - to make the whole screen image smaller. I wonder what you think of the new(ish) maximum sizes allowed on this site?

This is a superb vertical composition. I like one third given to the sky which has an interesting cloud formation. The cloud actually seems to almost mirror the splashing wave against the rocks. Lovely slow shutter speed and tripod work. The rocky outcrops are nice and sharp and have some lovely light falling on them. The blue hut completes this super image.

bello l'effetto dell'acqua che si infrange sugli scogli, ma altrettanto bella è la corrispondenza tra le nuvole e le onde bianche che sembrano andare dello stesso passo.

really a nice pov to get the feel of the place so very nicely.looks like a peaceful serene place.love the light and the colors and the framing.the dynamic water adds to the overall frame.

Une jolie lumière matinale et un bel effet de mouvement des vagues venant se briser sur les rochers.

Glad you got up before sunrise to create this excellent vertical of the PCH shore, the iconic lifeguard lookout perched on the craggy rocks, the warm lighting, and a bonus with your wave burst.
Certainly close in distance to the glamorous Malibu scene, but a world a way in reality.
I have many fond memories of my Dad awakening me before sunrise on Saturday mornings to venture out to the coast to fish.

I like the effect of the slow speed on the mood! I can almost hear the roar of the ocean. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

It is my first day on TE after a very long break so apologies I have taken a while to stop by again. This shot got my attention immediately. It is extremely powerful because the dynamism of the wave break is somewhat mirrored by the cloud taking over the sky. A fantastic capture of the moment! The composition is also pleasant and I like that even the beach house on the rocks is blue.
