Here I was at the 5th Avenue after some shopping at the FAO Schwarz store. Besides the pretty buildings around there the Apple store to me is the most atractive.
Apple's 5th Avenue store is the only 24-hour Apple Retail Store in the world. Located at 5th Avenue and 59th Street, its entrance is a distinctive glass cube. Positioned at the center of the General Motors Plaza, this 32-foot glass cube is both an icon and an entrance to a store. Entirely free of structural steel, the cube is self-supporting. The project of the building was made by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson Firm.
One funny question, why the Apple store is a aquare and not a apple form?

une prise de vue intéressante, j'aime bien cette scène animée et la présence du cube de verre.
Ce volume crée un élément moderne, contemporain et dynamique.

hmmm, an intriguing question.
it might be due to the enormous difficulties and cost of blow casting glass in huge apple form. but why not suggest it to the company? maybe you'll be awarded with the latest marvels of them :P
a nice corner of glassy transparency amongst the huge piles of concrete. i like how the company logo glows white amidst the dark tones.

Very interesting subject, I see Apples approach to architecture is as iconic and distinctive as their approach to technology! What a fascinating way to enter a store. And a 24 hour Apple store? Wow, sales must be very healthy to allow this!
Great scene, thanks for sharing.
All the best

FAO Schwarz is one of my favorite places to go to when I am in NYC, too. I love the reflections of the Apple logo from every which way in the glass entrance.
