Dodge City, founded August 15, 1872 has been called The Cowboy Capital of the World. The Santa Fe railroad reached Dodge City in 1872. Texas cattle drovers began to use a shortcut from the Chisholm trail to Dodge City called the Texas trail. Thousands of longhorn cattle were driven over the Texas trail into Dodge City for loading on the railroad. With these cattle came cowboys, gamblers, buffalo hunters and soldiers. Dodge City became a rowdy town famous for its saloons, outlaws and Boot Hill Cemetery.
These days street with long branch saloons and shows are places to see while in town.

This daily-life scene in front of old-style architecture represents a special atmosphere of such an unusual settlement as Dodge City. A very good composition, high-quality picture and interesting commentary!

Oh, this is great! Terrific perspective and composition, I really like the idea to take this from behind. It brings the tourists and scenery together into one pleasing image that helps apply some context. Quite a vivid shirt too from the young man on the right, he really stands out! A pleasing daily life slice of Americana, well balanced and detailed. Very nicely done. Have a great day ahead.
All the best,
