A telephoto sunset view from above the Las Vegas 'Strip' looking west towards Red Rock Canyon.
"Red Rock Canyon was designated as Nevada State's first National Conservation Area, located 17 miles west of the Las Strip on Charleston Boulevard (Highway 159). The area is 195,819 acres and is visited by more than one million people each year. In marked contrast to a town geared to entertainment and gambling, Red Rock offers enticements of a different nature including a 13 mile scenic drive, more than 30 miles of hiking trails, rock climbing, horseback riding, mountain and road biking, picnic areas, nature observing, and a visitor center with exhibit rooms and displays. The unique geologic features, plants and animals of Red Rock represent some of the best examples of the Mojave Desert."

What a wonderful sky. Great colors. These colors don't last long and you must catch them quick. TFS

This is a very pleasant photo. The silhouettes of the mountains agains the red clouds look wonderful. The band of urban lights has definitely improved the scenery.

That sky is beautiful, the time of the day when the best of everything nature has to offer comes out to play, but normally only for a very short time, so your timing is perfect. I love that the city lights fill the foreground, which at first glance seems to be just darkness. A superb way and a unique way to present the city, with the silhouette of the mountains and a fiery sky.
Really nicely done.
All the best

Love the colors of those clouds! Nicely captured with good pov and details. We had beautiful and colorful clouds late yesterday afternoon. Hoping to catch some rainbows over the next few days with remnants of a storm passing Southern Nevada. TFS.
