While taking a pleasant stroll exploring through the streets of Coney island neighbourhood in Brooklyn revealed this colourful piece that stopped me in my tracks finding the unexpected savvy street art and a really funky cool stuff that I couldn't help but felt more connected to the area. I think it's too nice enough to colour part of the streetscape.
To get the most suitable character to match JayZ, Brooklyn born iconic hip hop star and one of the greatest rappers of all-time with his famous " Money aint a thang..." was not an easy task indeed....
Its was quite a while standing from some distance and waiting before releasing the shutter.

a very eye-catching and arresting composition. Jay Z stands out and looks cool in any kind of situation, even in this graffitti with Micky and Minnie next to him:) You've cropped the image in a very intriguing way and the passer by is very well placed in the frame, welcomed by the painted heroes. Every detail becomes important in a composition like this and it's up to the viewer to start playing creatively with what they see. Lighting and colours are superb and make viewing quite pleasant. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

street art is always great subject for photography.
I like here the juxtaposition of Jay-Z and Mickey Mouse-quite original combination:)
And of course the presence of the passerby, which is crucial for the scene as it add some "life" to the scene.Magnificent colors and very good framing help you to capture and convey well the character of Brooklyn.

Interesantan tekst o mestu i plakatu ...
Dobar trenutak snimka, kontrast, lepe boje.
Lep trenutak sa gospodinom, koji ide svojim putem.
Lepe slike na zidu.
Prijatno vece i sve najbolje u novoj nedelji koja je pocela.
An interesting article about the place and the poster ...
A good time recording, contrast, beautiful colors.
A nice moment with the Mr. , who go their own way.
Nice pictures on the wall.
Good evening and all the best in the new week that started.

la patience a été bien récompensée, une superbe scène de rue; j'aime bien le graphisme et les couleurs.

This is more what I woud expect from you than a helipad. But the colours are so remarkably different from those of Uzbekistan or Vietnam. They're so much brighter and in a way maybe more "vulgar". Your talent of finding a good view and waiting for the best composition remains the same wherever you go. Patience pays. Maybe the greatest, or at least funniest, ingredient is the inclusion of the Disney figures. I really like the strong light and the strong colours and contrasts.

Curious scene and moment.
A very goog scanned.

You're capturing well this street scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the colorful curtain as expressing the black music placed on the wall occasion. And, you catch a walking man by a good position of the movement direction. Colors are vivid and attractive.

Salam Abmdsudi.Well, considering your photos from the more eastern destinations, I never expected to see something from the land of the brave and the free! You are full of surprises as is your note and the lingo in it. Seems you are more into western cool than I will ever be. Great visual impact here and excellent framing. My favourite character is the second from the right. Regards. Klaudio.

It's great that you made it to Coney Island during your visit to NYC. It's one of my favorite places. If I would have been on TE back in 2005 we could have met. :-) I like the artwork you captured, and that man was passing by at just the right time. I think that visiting areas that are considered a bit more "gritty" does present some colorful and authentic photo opportunities.

Hello Abmdsudi! Nice to see your take on NYC in the last couple - hope there are more to come. This is a great piece of street art and of street photography, with perfect timing to capture the man walking past. Love the title, too, taken from a fragment of the mural.
Urs (14082) 2013-08-27 3:57
First I though the painted person is walking by, but obviously he only looks similar to the wall painting. It is a great contrast of living and painting, of bold colour hues and pastel colour tones. Good photo job
Noel_Byrne (22024) 2013-08-27 7:53
What a great urban image! Not only for the very detailed artwork of Jay Z, but also the rather amusing contrast of that with the Mickey and Minnie mouse on the right hand side. I can safely say this is the first time I've ever sen jay Z so close to a rainbow and that many love hearts :) Excellent scene that really pops out of the screen.
All the best

A pleasant street capture with many strong colours. There seem to be a certain connection between the two man in the picture!
Romano46 (16582) 2013-08-27 10:13
Ciao e buona serata

Excellent work capturing both, as in the post-processing, the poster has a strong impact, both for its design and its color.
It is a very powerful image.
Magnificent lighting and sharpness very good to recreate the image.
Well done. I love it.
Have a good night.

The wall painting is very well made, but also wonderful photographed.
Sharpness and clarity be superb.

Excellent composition, lovely presentation.

Away from your more usual style, but a cracker nevertheless. Strange how different cultures affect the style of the photographer: instead of your trademark dark, contemplative Oriental images, we have here a bright, brash in-your-face street scene. Good work, as ever.
jemaflor (82098) 2013-08-28 10:31
Interesting comosition with this walking man and the portrait with cigar on the wall, nice vivid colors.
nikkitta (13871) 2013-08-28 16:04
Quite an unexpected shot from you, not Vietnam,India, Laos but NY at least Coney Island and a graffiti, more than one, two if you add Mikey and Minie with the pink hearts
You wait ( that's the way) and obtained a great and well composed capture, just at the right moment
Congrats to capture so well the USA ambiance

Good discovery and good frame to show an artistic corner, nice colourful paints in different theme, it is a beautiful place that combined with multi cultures, good capture to a passing man too, interesting composition, thanks for sharing.
mirosu (12726) 2013-08-29 6:15
The brightness and vivid colors are really special in this image; looks like a nice colorful painting. The walking man adds excellent life to the scene. You´ve placed the man to the side of the frame which really does strengthen things and creates excellent balance. The viewpoint is also excellent. Well done. Greetings, Miro

I like street art and I like the way you have captured this here with a lsight movement on the passer by. But what catches my eye most is the way that Jay Z - is positioned next to Mickey and Minnie Mouse from Disney world. I'm with Jeff Ferrell on the Disneyfication of culture and society and in my experience of America and it's culture he has a point. Everything seems repackaged and sanitized for the consumption of the masses - just like Jay Z - the simulacra and the hyper-real as Baudrillard would have it. So for me, this image really does capture more than what you pointed your camera at - it tells the story of American culture too.

Wonderful well spotted & I love the way the man has walked into your shot.
