A newborn at home has meant a lot of joy, but also a lot less time to both go out to take photos and stay in to post them here, which is why my posting has become pretty infrequent. It's also why I'm having to go back a bit and pull out some shots I hadn't really though about posting before, including the next few from the town I live in, Woburn Massachusetts.
This is the first Baptist Church in Woburn Center. I unfortunately don't know much about its history yet, but I've always like the look of its classic New England steeple, clearly aged and in some disrepair but still beautiful, especially in the late afternoon light.

Don't get discouraged by the physical demands of THESE days, Andrew, these ARE the better days. I am happy for you and your joy!
This shot makes me question the tyranny of the rule of thirds (and I have come to no conclusion -- yet!) ; is this shot (classically "thirded") a superior presentation to the same image precisely centered? I'm not sure...
As if you don't have MUCH more wonderful and important things to ponder...

Lovely details in this close-up of this bell tower. I really enjoy this New England style of architecture. The naked branches of the trees provides and excellent framing for the scene, and the blue sky works well as a contrasting backdrop. Lovely work! TFS.
Have a nice evening.
Best regards, Erling

take care (and have a nice father's day)

nice to have someone a newborn in his house and really the time to take someone a stroll to shot some photos is a bit difficult from now on.
I like the upper view of the bell tower with the light and the colour management to bring out the details and the clarity of it.

Hi Andrew, A newborn at home must be wonderful thing (I am so envious!), so do not worry about the photos. I am sure you have a great joy with Henry. Nice shot, the beautiful view of this classic tower against the blue sky.

The title of this photo is amusing. I suppose it refers to the not perfect shape of the church steeple, because surely you couldn't already be dreaming of the good old days when you could do whatever you wanted, at the time of your choice? :-)
Not quite as impressive as a state capitol this church still has a dignified style and is nicely surrounded by trees. Maybe time passes more quickly on the clock to the right.

As you say, despite the disrepair, this tower is still very elegant and a beautiful structure. if anything, the sense of decay actually adds to its charm and gives it age and history. Nicely done to present it against the almost skeletal trees too, it emphasizes the decay well.

Nice composition with this church rising from the branches. I like the result!

Andrew, the morning light is really great here, I agree it is probably the highlight of the shot. But the tree branches also add a lot to the image, and the steeple, though it needs work, is still a lovely example of New England churches. Nicely seen.

Good close up on the top of the tower, good light, sharpness and blue in the BG, tfs.

You're doing remarkably well to be able to even post a photo and write/talk sanely on such a no doubt small amount of sleep. This shot is immaculate: beautifully coloured, superbly sharp and skilfully composed. I like the effect of the darkened branches.
Thanks for sharing, have a beautiful day
