An odd little shot to close out my pictures from Rockport here. This was taken on one of Rockport's many piers; a small shop closed for the season seemed to have a small but very interested prospective customer. Of course he turned out to be a doll, propped up on the old barrel for effect, but combined with the Help Wanted sign in the window, it seemed to me a funny little portrait of yearning.

A great spot, nicely seen. Somebody in this shop has a cool sense of humour, and really cool that its positioned below the help wanted sign. I'm wondering if the little kid is supposed to be looking for cake, or employment!
All the best

You really had me on this one, I thought it was a real boy looking to help out in that store :-)
Greatly spotted and in a way so typical for the arts community of Rockport. Cleverly arranged little scene.
have a good weekend

Andrew, I was wondering if you'd post this one. I thought it was a pretty cute shot when you took it. I'm surprised you didn't brighten it up some.

An odd scene indeed. There was something not quite right about it when I first saw the thumbnail, it just didn't look natural. I thought this little "boy" was in a very strange position facing forward!? Obviously once I enlarged the picture and got a better understanding of what I was seeing, it made a lot more sense. :) One of those fun little nuggets you come across with camera in hand, and it turned out to be a whimsical and interesting photo. Thanks for sharing some of the character from along the pier. Hope you're having a nice weekend.

Fantastic idea! Most part of the people passing there must really believe it's a little boy. It's so well placed and it's perfect with the sign above. A very good composition!

A good eye to capture this wonderful scene. I really love this excellent piece of photo work. Quite reminiscent the high quality pictures captured in my city during the early 1960s and later published in a book. Also an american photographer named Robert A. Robinson published a book called "Captured by the Norwegians". In style this picture reminds me also of some of his work. You can see some of his work here: Link to Robinson on YouTube
A wonderful scene and an excellent work, my friend:) Thanks a lot for sharing!

this one captured my attention for the obvious reasons, i actually thought it was doll at first, but then i thought....no....its really a kid...but no, its really a doll!
talk about an imaginative way to attract attention to your store! this certainly works in my book!
funny, cute, innocent, and unique.
great post for TE
Hope all is well!

It took me a few seconds to realize this was a doll, but it's nevertheless an amusing photo and a good observation.
I see you have a new photo to introduce yourself. My warmest congratulations - not for the photo but for the little one included :-).
