Nashville is a wonderful city for a fan of faded brick signage, as I am. This particular facade was at about eye level on the ramp up to the Shelby St. Pedestrian Bridge, an old railroad bridge that has been converted to a promenade with sightseeing platforms. We were there near sunset, and though the front of the building was in shadow, little slivers of light fell on the top edge and the window openings, and pigeons basked in the last light of the day.

Lovely detail of this old façade, the pigeons want to be protagonist too....Good work Andrew!

An interesting old façade with its faded signage. Well framed and nicely reproduced under a good light.

I like these faded signs too. Sometimes they bring us back to times long passed and remind us of products that haven't been available for decades. They're really part of our cultural history. What makes me extra curious is the indication that something else was written here before the restaurant equipment company bought the advertising space.

That little bit of backlight is what makes this stand apart, just a hint of added interest and warmth. I've always liked these kinds of images, there's so much character and texture to an old building such as this. The contrast of elements is also very appealing, the brick and wood are a great combination. Very nice exposure with the heavy shade over most of the exterior, well balanced. I'm sure this old building would have a story or two to tell. :) Have a great evening.

So the pigeon sentinels working for the Mafia are guarding "the equipment" huh?
Nice light, nice textures and contrasts.

Exactly industrialized nostalgia, with these details of the façade.
Nice architecture image, with warm colours, and nice view about this brickwork.
Excellent composition, nice captured. TFS.

La photo et le texte qui va avec sont d'un grand intérêt. Une vrai machine à remonter le temps. L'architecture est très particulière et donne une assez bonne idée sur cette époque et ses gens.

Nice contrast between blue sky and the old dark brick building. I like the mood and textures.

I like details from buildings. This one is a nice detail: sharp, good color & light management and an attractive composition.
