Going through my personal gallery, i wanted to find something from my recent San Francisco trip.
My all time favorite building in SF was this one, The Sentinel, the tall green structure on the left. The Sentinel survived the Great Fire and Earthquake of 1906, and was completed in 1907.
Hollywood film director Francis Ford Coppula purchased this building in the 1970's, and now has his film company occupying it. The ground floor is a bistro-wine shop.
Hope you enjoy the view.

beautiful cityscape, which present us excellently cross-section of San Francisco´s architecture.I'm not surprised it's your favourite building. It´s architecture, but also color appeals to me.I´ve seen it before, but not from this POV.And I must say I really like it.
San Francisco is definitely the city I want to visit.Captivating architecture.

somebody said that architecture is a solidified music. Why not. But I can't image this music. Impressive mix of styles. Fine colours and perfect sharpness.

Interesting to view classical vs modern architectures in the same frame. Nice diagonal composition with fine colors and excellent sharpness. TFS and best wishes,

Have a nice day

Yes, I recognise that Sentinel building from a few of your previous postings and it's nice to see it here in the company of other stuctures apart from the enormously tall Trans American building.
Excellent composition, lovely oblique lighting, wonderfully vibrant colours and, as always, exquisite sharpness.
P.S. Got your email and I've sent you one or two more about links - I hope they get through to you all right this time!

You captured very well the contrast between the two souls of the town, modern and less modern (ancient is too much), and their positive integration.

What a great city. You know before TE, I'd never had a desire to see the US, but now I do and it's partly due to you. This profusion of colour and architectural styles is wonderful and so "up your alley" so to speak. I like the tight framing and the high POV alot. And you managed the uneven light and shade superbly.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely evening

Hello Craig, SF is one of my favorite cities in the world along with Paris and Vienna. Our son lives in the suburbs there. 30 minutes from the baseball park. You know we go into town for dinner frequently but i never take my camera, as everyone complains about it. Anyway, I have seen that building many times, and never knew what it was, except a most unusal building amidst all of the others. I like your shot, it is a bit dark, but maybe that is why I like it. Great city and a great shot. Regards, Roger

I used to live not far from there when I got back from the war long long time ago. My rent was only 68 dollars a month and my view was of the old cathedral in the North beach area. They filmed dirty harry there just before I moved in.
Excellent capture of the steel landscape of San Francisco. I try to stay away from downtown now because of all the traffic. Next time you’re out this way let me know and I'll give you a heads up on a beautiful urban hike along the coast that darts in and out of the woods and then back to the multi-million dollar homes and ends up at the Golden Gate Bridge, you can even do a museum visit on this hike.
I really like the clarity and fine detail your camera takes. Perfect light management which can really be a pain there in SF. You’ve mastered the colors of the building brilliantly. Your POV and DOF are very playful and I find them very pleasing. Great job Craig!!

From that pov, that green building is not all that impressive! I remember walking down that street and really enjoying that!
A picture of that place with original pov and composition!
Sharpness, exposure and colors are great too!

Excellente photo que j'ai déjà eu le plaisir d'apprécier ailleurs. Très bon cadrage serré de ces façades d'immeubles donnant une photo graphique et intéressante.

I used to watch that TV show "Streets Of San Francisco." Very nice representation and capture of the city by the bay's unique architectures. Great pov and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.
Re: Landsail, a guy told me that those boats (that's what they call them) can go as fast as 60 mph or more. Next time you're in Vegas you might see them on the desert just outside Primm on the Califronia side.

mi piace il taglio stretto con le molteplici e variegate costruzioni protagoniste della foto.
Buona la qualità,

Hi craig. Old houses, modern houses. Architecture as a mix. In addition, very nice Fasrben, fine composition and good technical quality. Rgds, Wolfgang.

it is a very beautiful corner of SF indeed.
I like very much the slightly elevated POV which allows a nice perspective. Most buildings run diagonally culminating in the most interesting green one. I like the background with skyscrapers.
Very impressive, congratulations,
