Photographer’s Note
Hanauma Bay, Oahu island, Hawaii
This bay, formed in the crater of a long extinct volcano is a combination of beach and nature preserve. Because catching the sea critters is not permitted, the fish are totally unafraid of people: they come and peek in on your scuba mask, the turtles plod by straight next to you, etc.

A great scenery shot. Wonderful colours. I especially like the contrasting colours of the shallow and deep water.

Nice shot! I love the way the bay looks, and I've never really understood why so many people stay in Waikiki and never venture further along the coast. Thanks for the note, I didn't realise that was the origin of the bay! One thing I would suggest though is a little rotation - 1.7° CW would straighten up the horizon nicely. I'm not sure, but I think I might have taken the shot slightly more to the right to get the whole headland in? Anyway, I like it :-)

Nice that you´ve captured a diferent POV! Usually we see and take pictures from the other side, lower and not so nice! Excellent work! TFS!

George,
Very nice shot, featured on the TE front page tonight. Great colours, and the wide view captured the vista nicely. I visited here once, had some fun with the fishes! Posted a couple of shots now that I remember, but not as good as this one.
