Along with the intense spiritual aspects of dancing, the outfits that the people wear are heavy and hot. Often the base garmet is buckskin which is then beaded, or as in the case of this fellow, feathered. When you consider the temperature on this day was above 90 deg F., it's a wonder that someone didn't have a heat stroke.
