Photographer's Note
The last ferry back to New Jersey from the Liberty Island was at 5PM. The cruise line had 2 decks. There were not too many people and it gave me a comfortable place on the open space in the upper deck. There was a brief stop at Ellis Island to pick up the passengers. The sun was already setting and I was hoping to see the colors on these buildings in the financial district of NYC. The tallest tower is the unfinished freedom tower . Due to shortage of funds and low occupancy, the work has been halted. On the extreme left is The Empire State Building.
PS: I agree with all of you that the sharpness is not there. I am not sure whether it was because of the brightness or my eyes. If anyone can do the workshop to make it a little sharper, I will be grateful
I have posted a little better version in WS

Namaste Lakshmi
I'm presuming the Freedom Tower is in the same location as the former WTC? It would be good to see it finished. A little soft, but wonderful warm cold color contrasts between the reddish tinted highrise buildings, & the blue sky & water. I like the wide angled panoramic crop. Tfs!

Hello Lakshnmi,
A composition with soft tones on the end of the day. The image is well divided into three parts with the water giving deepness. The buildings are a little fuzzy but that goes well with financiers I guess.
Have a great day

Hello Dear Lakshmi!
The softly focussed image and the soft lighting of the image go together well. The hustle and bustle of the NYC seems a distance away. The New tower is really going up, it looks enormous! If I am not mistaken I see the Empire State building off far to the left. The financial district remains frozen. I see several cranes at work there. This is really a city that never sleeps in reality. But from here all that looks nicely tamed and remains without a movement. The river and the sky, even their presence in the image looks and feels so peaceful. I came to know the city a long time ago. It’s good to see the new image coming from this great city.
With my very best and warm regards,
Have a very pleasant Sunday, Lakshmi

I think there is a lack of sharpness, but I love the succession on different lines, the sea,the buildings, the sky,and the warm light is superb. This is very well framed too,in a good and appropriate long format.

Hi Lakshmi,
in spite of the low sharpness of the image, I love these warm and reddish tones created by the low sunlight at sunset time, which dye the wonderful architecture of the Lower Manhattan.
The Freedom Tower already begins to be outlined between other buildings of the Financial District.
A beautiful panoramic photo.
Best regards,
Josep

Dear Lakshmi
The light and composition are very beautiful.
As others have commented, it is not very sharp. I feel very sad that your eye-sight is affected, especially when you love the photography so much. I think you do a marvellous job in spite of your problem.
There is a free program called Neat Image which does an impressive job of sharpening photos. But the important thing is to get it right at the time of shooting, as nothing will ever replace that.
Here, I would check your Automatic focus points and in your situation, always use Auto Focus. Here the focus should have been on the buildings. I would also always try and use a small aperture of between f/11 and f/14, and of course if sharpness is your concern, a light tripod. There are some very good light travel tripods around that weigh barely nothing. If you do not have a tripod, then try and stand with both feet apart and your elbows dug into your body so there is more stability. I hope this helps and that it does not offend you.
Warmest regards
Lisa

Ottima luce in un tramonto nel "mondo" finanziario .
A NY ritorna il sole ....ma per altri no .
Troppo complicato per noi che amiamo le foto ed il bello ...e condividerlo .

Hello Lakshmi,
It is a lovely POV, unfortunately the quality is not as good. It looks blur, either you move, so I suggest a tripod. the color is wonderful and composition is good.

it is a pity the sharpness isn't so good here. anyway I liked the view, we can have an idea how the new WTC will be in the skyline of NY.
