A dedicate this photo to Claude - he always bugs me about not having any human presence in most of my photos - so this one's for you my friend! :)
Yes, i'm sure Claude would want many more people in this photo, but the single pretty lady will have to do for today :)
We decided to rent bikes, and ride around Central Park. Every few minutes along the ride, there are places where you can enter and go further inside Central Park and look around. This was such a place. Beautiful tall mature trees, quiet nature walks, park benches, ponds, all very peaceful - you have no idea you're in a major city like New York.
We biked it in 3 hours, but we could have easily spent 2 full days inside this amazing park. For sure a can't miss if traveling to NYC.
Enjoy your weekend!

Indeed, quite an unusual image to see in your gallery though I am not really one to talk about having people in my pictures:-) You have captured this quiet moment very well indeed. The image is well composed and is very nicely lit. Lovely verdant tones and very good sharpness.

Nicely captured image. Nicely saturated colour, good exposure etc. I don't think the figure either adds or detracts from the image, but like you, I tend to try to keep people out of my shots unless I have a specific reason for including them.

Yes, it is a little unusual to see people in your pictures (I am often criticised for the same sin of omission) and this is a fine departure for you.
The diagonal line of the fence and the park benches is a strong compositional feature and the young lady anchors the composition perfectly at one end of that strong line. The oblique shadows on the pathway and the tree trunks are lovely as are the wonderful shades of green in the background.
Beautiful colours, perfect lighting and exquisite detail and sharpness.
P.S. I presume because you used a slow shutter speed that you used a tripod for this picture. Was this lady a willing subject? Or was she perhaps a "girl from the west coast"?

Every photographer know that people add to a picture gives more demention, certainly when this is a pretty young woman.
Excellent composition and colors.
Very well done, TFS.

Nice capture. Good decision to use the portrait format which allows us to follow the scene from bottom towards top of the trees.
Nice light and simble but beatiful framing.
TFS and have a nice weekend

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S Craig!!
So it's not so difficult to point your camera on a person! For me, adding persons is a plus because in your lives, generally we are not alone and we share lots of things with people.
She is releaxed in a green environment, checking her mobile phone (the XXI century illness)!
Regards and thank you for the dedication

Indeed the inclusion of a figure can greatly change the mood and atmosphere of a place. While the crowd is no where to be seen the lady may not feel the silence as she is still connected to busy NY through the little gadget.I enjoyed the way the light penetrates through the trees creating interesting shadows and the on the spot saturation. Best Regards.

Cette femme , très absorbée par la lecture ou l'écriture de ses messages, t'a laissé tout le loisir de peaufiner ton cadrage et de réaliser ainsi une superbe photo.

Hi Craig, Central park is fantastic place and going by bike was better option. Unfortunately, I can't ride (maybe the only person you know, even virtually, not riding a bike). Funny it is only this one girl, when I was there (walking), many people enjoyed sun in this green island in the city. Nice scene

you must guess that I am like Claude, that I like to see people on the pictures. You show us that you can also excell in this kind of picture, and for me, only 1 people is enough to make the picture stronger than with much people. You have perfectly placed this woman in the comp, and I like how she seems relax in this beautiful park. The colors and the light in the trees are magnificent.

A beautiful human presence in this capture. Beautiful park also and a fine mood atmosphere. Hope your friend is now happy.
Enjoy a good week.

a lovely "green" view!
yes, the inclusion of a "human" changes the view a lot: it adds both a bit of emotions (expressiveness) and also makes us imagine a little story :)

Even without a human presence, this picture would have been great, but no doubt the woman added more interest to it ;) A good choice of the vertical format highlighting the graphics of the trees, the diagonal created by the benches/fences. Love the lights and green tones...

Central Park is a fascinating place, a real oasis in the middle of a great metropolis.
In this capture you have caught its spirit, with the girl sat calmly in a bench, with her cell phone, while she seems to be waiting for someone. The light and the shades create a very pleasant atmosphere in the nice green symphony of the vegetation of the park.
It is a beautiful composition, my friend.

Your composition is very well done. The young woman placed in the left corner, seems so small compared to the huge tree behind her. The density of the green branches is also participating to the effect. Very well done !
