Shot stitched from three vertical photos under difficult light conditions.
The first you see entering the EMP is this huge cone, not created from distortion of the used lens,so it is real and decorated from decades of guitars.
You can see a 360° panoramic view of that event space,as its ceiling too, waiting for a while to upload the program.
Unfortunately the link is not can upload but you can see it here:
Experience Music Project(EMP) and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame.
The EMP Museum (formerly known as Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame or EMP|SFM) is a museum dedicated to the history and exploration of both popular music and science fiction located in Seattle, Washington. The Frank Gehry-designed museum building is located on the campus of the Seattle Center, adjacent to the Space Needle and the Seattle Center Monorail, which runs through the building.
The EMP Museum was founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and opened its doors in 2000. EMP struggled financially in its early years; as a result, Allen established the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame (SFM), which opened in 2004 in the south wing of the EMP building. When SFM opened, EMP and SFM were treated as separate museums, and visitors had the option of purchasing admission to one museum, or, at a higher cost, a combined admission to both. In 2007, after mounting criticism, EMP|SFM ended the separate admissions policy and began charging a single admission price for entrance to both the EMP and SFM wings. The Science Fiction Museum was closed in March 2011.
EMP has provided funding for radio station KEXP in partnership with the University of Washington.EMP was also the site of the demo and concert program for the first international conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME-01) and the Pop Conference, an annual gathering of academics, critics, musicians and music buffs.
The EMP in collaboration with SIFF operates the Science Fiction Fantasy Short Film Festival (SFFSFF). Sffsff takes place annually every winter in Seattle, Washington at the world renowned Seattle Cinerama Theater. The festival brings together industry professionals in filmmaking and the genres of science fiction and fantasy to encourage and support new, creative additions to science fiction and fantasy cinema arts.

Hi Danos, long time no see! This is a great shot, wonderful effort by stitching. Low light and stitching can be problematic, I know! The result you got is great - I especially like the people milling around the sculpture in different speeds. The color turned out wonderful and I am enjoying the subject matter and your description, as well. Great job!
Have a wonderful day,
geoant68 (331) 2011-11-10 12:27
vasilpro (41031) 2011-11-10 12:37

This vortex of guitars is really an amazing sculpture. Only a stitch of several pictures could get through this huge instrumental compilation, and you did very well. The reddish colour adds a nice touch to the image.
A real whirlwind of musical creativity !
Thanks for sharing this original discovery.
baddori (19969) 2011-11-10 15:48

Good discovery and good frame to show colourful guitars that hanging on the big column at the middle of hall, in other words it is just a exhibition of guitars, interesting composition and informative note, thanks for sharing.
CLODO (30952) 2011-11-11 1:11
What a big rock band guitar collection you've discovered! Of course, you had to use an ultra wide angle to get them all in the picture.
bayno (18344) 2011-11-11 1:18
Hi Danos, Unusual artwork, I really like, excellent the effect given by the wide angle, it seems almost a spray of a fountain, funny title, well done, have a nice day, valter
Longroute (19396) 2011-11-11 1:25
What a spectacular photo and what an original monument!
It looks like a tornado which took all those instruments together in the air!
If those guitars are real ones this monument must cost a fortune!
The image is quite clear and well exposed in spite of all the difficulties and so is the stitching.
I really love the colours and the sense of inner space and volumes. Quite unique and with a strong visual impact.
ikeharel (59815) 2011-11-11 1:38
Took me a while to grasp what I see here, Danos.
POV chosen collected a unique effect on the Guitars-tower.
You managed well the light indoors, not to worry about that, and good clearity.
Nice idea applied.
Cricri (109003) 2011-11-11 5:18

You're capturing well this intersting music sport by a good composition and very excellent color tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see the the ornament which consists of guitars. It's interesting that there many kind of guitars. I admire with the ability of such an ornament to improve.

A fantastic and very original composition, the vision of all those guitars is impressive both for their color as the creation of the gigantic sculpture that gives the feeling like a geyser.
Magnificent light management, perfect sharpness and nice colors.
Have a nice weekend.
s_lush (16134) 2011-11-11 12:35
This unusual sculptural composition is a real eye-catcher due to its colorfulness and components that it is made of. Despite the difficult light conditions, the image is very colorful, bright, aesthetic and of quite good quality. Excellent presentation of this interesting museum!

Hello Danos. For this photo I remember the old song: and the sky is full of violins. There are, of course, guitars. And I think this whole thing is a real eye-catcher. Well seen and presented. Rgds, Wolfgang.
raszid62 (18585) 2011-11-12 2:17

pierrefonds (58458) 2011-11-12 5:19
The stitch of the three photos is allowing me to see the details and colors of the guitars at the EMP. It is an impressive piece of art. You managed well the difficult lighting condition, it does not hurt to much the colors. Have a nice day.
Giorgio (11279) 2011-11-12 6:42
- Incredible stacking up of guitars danos, the effect is strange, can consider it art, but I prefer a more traditional use of these beautiful instruments ;o)
Have a nice weekend.
rodgerg (55767) 2011-11-12 7:43
Exwcellent vertical presentation of this curious, astonishing sculptur with a good managment of light nad an image rich in details well collecetd. The peoples give life and too an idea of the important dimùensions of the sculptur.

subhendu_bagchi (25913) 2011-11-12 10:16
an interesting composition. A superb experiment with three different photos of three different plane. A mystic lens distortion is there which create this shot unique, IMHO. Great colours and depth. A superb panoramic vertical presentation. Tfs.
Robert1969 (7160) 2011-11-13 1:26
Very interesting subject and picture, taken

nobuikehonda (3848) 2011-11-13 9:02
This is one of the most interesting uses of perspective. The tower of musical instrument is simply stunning. The wide-angle lens is most effective. I must say again that it is very Danos- esque framing. The colours and the contrast are surprisingly impressive. I truly like the top of your photo, how a dynamically rising small tower at the bottom becomes so powerful at the top. I must congratulate you for this most impressive photo. The presentation is also first rate. And the vertical format is a must here. I like the photo very much.
Thank you Danos,
Have a very fine week ahead.
P.S: Thank you Danos.
ashres (1075) 2011-11-13 9:04
Its a wonderful work here with so many guitars and other instruments there. The cone of instruments is wonderful to see. nice shot. thanks for sharing
have a great week,
paololg (31448) 2011-11-13 12:55
Fantastic shot, dear Danos, I had never seen a sculpture made of musical instruments. As you say in the notes, here's a light very difficult to manage, but here you have proved once again to be an excellent photographer, getting a perfect and pleasant result. You've had a really excellent idea, well realized. Congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice week!

As a guitar player, I can only appreciate this artwork with countless instruments reaching for the ceiling!
Good light and colour quality too.
macjake (58212) 2011-11-13 21:31
now thats a cool looking photo!
I'll have to check this one out the next time I'm in Seattle.
love how the top flares out and up, we don't see that too often in subjects.
love the subject and the colors.
Royaldevon (31443) 2011-11-14 2:44
I do like this. It's so unusual and very eye-catching.
I particularly like how you have used the elements as a volcano, but in reverse, as it draws the eyes inwards. A fine composition.
Thank you for your kind words on the critique of my photograph.
With regard to the guitars, I'm a great fan. My husband and I have just booked to see Tommy Emmanuel who will be on tour from America. He will be performing in Liverpool. We went to see Mark Knoffler a few weeks ago. Excellent!
jlbrthnn (76037) 2011-11-15 9:54
The work of art is spectacular, the photo skillfully constructed is it not less. The neatness, the depth, the light, the colors are excellent. Magnificent and interesting photo. Bravo.
Have a nice evening
josepmarin (57837) 2011-11-16 3:20
I am impressed by this vertical stitch of three photos, with which you have obtained a visual incredible angle, and a graphical fantastic result, with the guitars in a sculpture that looks like a tornado.
The exposure is managed well, in spite of the difficulty of the capture inside this building.
A great work.
sacavem (18614) 2011-11-16 6:32
The other TE friends have said all, but I think this photo can bear another two points ... ;-)
ManuMay (35935) 2011-11-17 8:24
Very good work...an eyecatching capture, full of colours and very well composed under this point of view, even from a stitch is really good, great stitch work...
An amazing place and great realization...

batalay (35951) 2011-11-18 19:22
I did not know that you were visiting the United States. This is an eye catching composition, perfectly stitched together, and an informative note to complement the photo.
Warm regards, and have a good weekend,
maloutim (9637) 2011-11-18 21:11
Now if there was ever an original, interesting sculpture, it's this one ! Ah ! These Americans ! They can really bring the best out of themselves !
I understand the difficulties concerning the light, but in this case, it doesn't matter, as it takes nothing off the interesting side of the pic. + you did very well with the stitch. Not surprised you got so many smileys. I am glad the system has come back to normal again :-))
Looking at your post, I want to listen to the concert and start rocking around the floor !
siamesa (27751) 2011-11-19 1:45
Bom dia Danos
Fantastic! Excellent register with sharpness and colors marvelous. Very well done.
jmdias (57181) 2011-11-20 0:59
it is a really impressive monument. I liekd the mood of the image that looks like a jet of guitars taking from the ground. nice job with the difficult light, my camera is terrible in lower light.
kennyblack (4207) 2011-11-21 11:51
Hello Danos, very interesting image viewed from an angle unusual but very effective. Perfect colors and vivid. Congratulations.
Greetings, have a nice evening ... Marino

Hello Danos, A splendid & interesting image & excellent photo work in the capture & stitching, well done especially considering the difficult light condition that you mentioned.
danyy (0) 2011-11-25 0:16
fabianoleite (9641) 2011-11-27 14:16
the sculpture made up of electric guitars in itself is already very interesting, and you tokk it from a good perspective, we can feel the music... Good work, congratulations!

Lovely work, thank you, Iain
