This an an overview of Union Square. Union Square sits between 14th and 17th streets, Broadway and Park Avenue South. This is another one of those don't miss areas of NY that probably most tourists don't know about.
On Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday's there is a colorful farmers market held here, and on the other days its full of life with people lounging around enjoying the views, enjoying friends, enjoying the citylife that is NY.
I owe thank you's to our TE member Brenda, known as Worldcitizen for showing me this viewpoint. Before leaving for NY, i was in contact with her, and we met right down there, on the steps of Union Square.
Then she took us to an adjacent shopping store where we went up 3 or 4 floors with large panel windows. And this is the resulting view. The Empire State Building can be seen way in the bg.
Thanks again Brenda! I know this is your favorite place in all of NY. Hope you're keeping well, it was great to meet you!

Your viewpoint really does a splendid view of this vast square and the surrounding buildings. The Empire State building in the far distance makes an excellent focal point. Very well presented with good colours and clarity.

You made my day. :-) I was waiting to see a shot from Union Square, and it is beautiful. You did a great job capturing the flavor of this spot, so into my favorites it goes. :-) Thanks for the kind words in your note, too. I was in Union Square twice last week. There are lots of pumpkins in the market now. :-) Have a great day!

An interesting shot for people who don't know NY such as me : I thought there was no green in NY except Central park but your picture shows me that I was wrong thinking this ! A very nice POV with good light conditions. I love the different architecture styles we can see around the square.

Hello Craig, Impressive picture of the square. I really like the lighting, it is not too bright and yet soft enough where one can see the full depth of the shot. The city buildings are perfect with the clouds and blue skies in the background. Good shot for a tourist brochure too. Very well done. Have a good week. Regards, Roger

One of your best from NYC!
I really enjoyed the lively mood of that place! It was sunny and there were lots of people there, doing all sorts of things! I spent some time there just enjoying that urban scene! Unfortunately, didn't see it from that pov and I really like it! For this reason, this picture is one of my favs from NYC!
TFS - congrats,
Have a great sunday,

the panoramic overview of Union Square is superb, with the clarity of the image to be seen from the long distance of the capture. The light and the colours are fine with the trees on the foreground to make the scene even more attractive.

Perhaps just a tad darker than your usual shots, this one has amazing detail and clarity as well as being extremely well composed. The curving patterns in the foreground contrast very well with the strong vertical lines of the buildings surrounding Union Square.
Lovely colours, perfect exposure and sharpness and a beautiful sky to top it off.

What a lovely dedication to our friend Brenda and how kind of her to show you around her city. I can see why this would be a favourite. You got a great POV, exverything's nice and sharp and the patterns in the foreground make a great graphsim. I'd a little dark for my taste, but I understand why you did that and also appreciate the good strong colours that go along with the under-exposure. Great job, thanks for sharing.
Have a great evening
