Photographer's Note
The Tabby House is located on the corner of 7th and Ash Streets in the town of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island Florida. The house is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
"Tabby House" gets its name because of its style of construction. Many people think that the siding has been removed but this was how the house was constructed. Tabby was the concrete of the 1800's in this area. If you walk by, you can clearly see oyster shells, sand, and other bits of beach because that's how tabby was made. The tabby is a combination of oyster shells, sand, lime and water.

Hello Asa,
Quite an interesting structure with the balconies and also these 2 chimneys. I like the way you aligned the corner of the fence with the inside angle of the house.
Nicely done !

Hello Asa,
People were so resourceful in their use of materials. I think the idea of making concrete from oyster shells sounds wonderful!
This is a most attractive house. I have always loved the idea of having a verandah on the upper part of the house. It would be so lovely to sit out from your bedroom on a warm, balmy day.
The shot is well composed, with the corner almost on the thirds line. A fine exposure where the use of the low sun produces interesting shadows, following the contours of the wall & fence.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Asa,
The well chosen point of view depicts the architecture of this most interesting house to great effect. The whole is set off beautifully by the polarised blue sky. Light, colours and sharpness are all good features here.

Hi Asa,
The distance between the fence and the house is giving depth to the composition. The corner point of vuew is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the Tabby house. The late morning light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Asa,
The architectural portrait you've presented this time has a compelling note attached. The building material seems unique, but at the end of the day, I imagine lime, sand... has the same ingredients, except in pulverized form. I like photos of buildings as they are seen edge on, featuring two-point perspective.
Warm regards,
Bulent
