I decided to re-include the rocks in the foreground to help with the depth. I also cropped from the foreground and the sky. Hope you like the changes!

I like this version a lot. The rocks do help, and they don't clutter the view up too much. But the cropping job is great, in fact it's just as I would have done it!

yes, the composition is excellent, I like the use of the rock in the foreground. and the view looks wider.

I had to go way back to find a photo that didn't have a gazillion points. I'm not sure a critique for a photo posted this long ago has any validity for you. I'm sure you've moved WAY beyond this, but I really like this photo and I learned a lot from the difference between the originalk version and this one. This one is MILES better and I probably would have cropped the rocks out too, but this one DOES have so much more depth. thanks for the insight. :) Pat
