This was my view from the 'Top of the Rock' or the top of the Rockefeller Centre, New York.
It was a very hot day, with the temperature beating all records for New York in July.
Right in front is the Empire State Building, towering above the other sky scrapers.
The visit to the Rockefeller Centre was quite an experience. The building is 70 storeys high and the journey to the top, in a glass topped elevator, takes about 42 seconds!
The view from the top, as you can see, is quite amazing.
I enjoyed finding out about this building so I have included a link to a video here, which you might also find interesting.
I took three shots and merged them in PSE6.

A less classical view over NYC, including the Empire State Building! I've already seen some pictures here taken there and they have given me a hint on where to go there while staying in the city (I'm going to NYC in early september)!
Your picture is very attractive with excellent sharpness, exposure, pov, dof, colors, pp, contrasts, large vertical format, black borders, white writings and composition!
TFS - congrats!

A good capture of the wonderful Manhattan skyline despite the heat haze, The Empire State Building is well placed centre stage and the image has great depth. The heat must have been horrendous. The last time I was there it was a January and freezing cold!
PS Don't mind criticism where it's warranted as yours was. The sharpness was not as good as might have been. I put it down the slow shutter speed and old age :-) Take care.

a spectacular view and an excellently composed impression of the famous skyline. The colors are very nice despite the sharp light. What I like most is the inclusion of the river that is shimmering in the heat. Congratulation!

great view over New York. Sharp despite the heat haze.Your placement of the Empire State Building works despite it being placed so centrally as it is balanced by the tall building to right, in front of it.

nice the panoramic view over the NY city, with the tall skyscrapers to be the main characteristic of the scene. The haze over the city to spread on the air and the harsh light of the day, didn't permit to create shadows between the building, to make the scene more plastic and more effective.

This "bird's-eye" view is very impressive indeed. The scene was captured with unbelievably high quality, so many details are visible pretty well. Excellent presentation of this famous city!
