Here we have the classic Bellagio WaterShow.
If you havn't been to Las Vegas, this is a must see while you visit. Its a free show, which plays every half hour in the evening.
The water shoots up in various displays, heights, and formations. They co-ordinate the movements with songs, which also vary throughout the evening.
This proved to be extremely difficult to photograph as the exposure levels change so rapidly. Depending on the amount of water, the light meter changes - so there were several attempts made before getting a photo that i was satisfied with.
I hope you like it, looking forward to your thoughts.

sperb effect with those 6 seconds on the intersection of water jets. you made the uttermost favour of the brilliant lighting all around.

I would prefer to see the trashy side of Vegas, as it might be a heaven for street shooting, colourful freaks and Sunday cowboy's.
But you've decided to go for the glitz and you've done it very well. I think you have achieve a very good management of light from different sources, making sure none is burning the pixels.
Although you were aiming at the water show, the background is strangely framed, at least the hotel on the left. There's also a slight tilt in the buildings screaming to be corrected... just a notch.

A good night shot with a perfect exposure! I really like the effect created by the fountain with the water jets in foreground and those buildings in background with the colourful illumination.

Welcome back Craig. If its true you took over 700 photos in Las Vegas then I would suggest this one is a definite keeper. I love the precise water stream control in this frame capture. Very nice photo! Is this the same hotel that the movie Oceans Eleven was made? Just curious. Good work and thanks for sharing.

Wow, what a night photo it is. You have captured it in a very nice manner. Evereything in the photo is perfectly sharp and looking very nice. Fountains are looking very beautiful in slow shutter speed. Superb shot. Congrats.

Une bonne photo nocturne avec de très belles couleurs. Je partage le point de vue d'André sur le cadrage avec ce premier plan un peu trop important et le sommet de l'hôtel à gauche trop près du cadre.

indeed a show these games of water and light, a management of the perfect light and an interesting point of view.

So, money trees is over and you are back home, ha..ha..ha.. I know because my son was there twice.
Thank you for criticism.
But you do not need my opinion because that is always positive.
You follow all the rules and all your photographs are stunning. The best part is that all yours critics are good photographers. I've looked at
their images too. That is good development on TE. To strive for better horizons all the time ..

Well done here. The light management was flawless at least in this shot. Repeating patterns are always pleasing to the eye.

Les jet d'eau bien saisis. Un cadrage bien fait.

This must be a hell of a job to master the scene to perfection and you've done really well here. The exposure management could not be better as we see the dancing water with superb geometric shapes and the backdrop of the hotel buildings and the dark sky. Everything's so perfect that I was wondering about the slight tilts in the building which could have been easily corrected, as a small nitpick. But a quality work for sure!

wonderful long exposure

It is pretty fascinating this show, the 6 seconds has produced a brilliant effect with the water, the exposures are spot on here with the Las Vegas colours in show. I stayed at Bellagio, but vowed never to go back..... lost a few quid in that place ;-)
rajhema (1871) 2009-12-08 16:54
Yeah, the crowd won't let you take the photo very well. I tried few times. You have done a wonderful job. if the Bellagio tower stands center that would be awesome right? I know its hard to get a perfect spot.
Rajesh. Thanks for visiting my picture. I will be posting another one from Death Valley tomorrow.
crckt (7218) 2009-12-16 11:46
Even though the light conditions were difficult, you managed a perfect shot. I would say this shot would beat any other postcard from Las Vegas any day.

fantastic game of lights and colors and a beautiful silk effect of the water.
have a nice day
delpeoples (53417) 2011-04-24 2:28
Likewise, an oldie but a goodie. The light management is really superb, it would have been very easy to blow-out the lights near the water fountains. The silk effect on the water is a winner and I love the reflections on the water too. Hope you didn't sicken yourselves on chocky Easter eggs!
