Apple Cider Time In Vermont Photo

Photographer’s Note

There is a little nip in the air and the leaves are turning brown so it's time for a refreshing slug of Vermont apple cider with a side of doughnuts.
This is the North Bennington's Parin River after a few days of heay rain.

Hi Tom, Great waterfalls, and the lighting is excellent for this shot. I can almost see trout where the falls meets the surface. I like the idea of the cider and doughnuts too. Nice picture. Regards, Roger

This is a great time of year up there, Tom. I love Autumn in New England. There's no where like it.

Beautiful shot. I love the rusty browns and the heavily clouded sky. It has such an end of Autumn feel to it. Great POV with the eye naturally following the river. Perfect amount of exposure for a nice, natural look to it. Which I REALLY like. I love the moodiness of it. Very nicely done! Many thanks and warm regards,

You almost have frozen the waterfall, looks good. Cleverly you gave the waterfall a lot of room because the sky was not at its best, it looks rather rainy. Despite that you got out some nice pastel color hues. Well done

Hello Tom,
The waters cascading over the weir bring a great sense of dynamism to this lovely composition. The point of view is very well chosen with the river stretching away above the weir creating a great feeling of depth. Superb colours and sharpness. I like it a lot, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful photograph with a great autumn mood: the cloudy sky and the colors of the trees!
The pov was very well chosen, highlighting those falls and the composition was pretty effective and attractive!

Hello Tom! Oh DOUGHNUTS ... and some apple cider ... and I never get up from my sofa again ... :))) I like this part of fall too when the leaves turn brown and finally fall off, another typical moment of fall which has a wonderful quality too, also in photography. Great shot with the little water fall and the trees around, still some leaves left or even "shining" strong like the little tree beside the building. Excellent picture, well done. A well exposed shot that has caught the waterfall just right IMO. The river has a slight curve that leads the eye into it and the waterfall is slightly off centre for a well composed image.

ah, apple cider... warm, spicy, love that drink. and you're right that it tastes best in crispy autumn day, it's like a prelude to Christmas.
I quite like the photo, the energy of the waterfall nicely contrasts with somewhat melancholic colours and subtle light.

This is a well composed shot of this river and falls. The rough water adds nice points of interest in the foreground with the river leading the eye through the shot. The lighting is great with the overcast sky giving everything soft even lighting. The colors are good and the shot has excellent sharpness and DOF.

Your expert framing captures this waterfall between the turbulence of the river below and the placid lake above with fall colors adding spice to scene while excellent light management maintains good detail in the sky.

Hello Tom,

It sounds as if we have all been suffering from extensive rain bursts! The wind has been strong, as well, over here!

I do like this shot and, I am so pleased that you have made the waterfall gush, rather than using a slow shutter speed which makes the water like silk.
An excellent pov, with the water rushing towards the viewer, creating a fine sense of movement, in the f/g.
The whole scene benefits from the warm autumnal colours.
I like the way the shot encourages the eyes to move through it, with lots of interesting details at each stage.
