This was taken on the North Shore of Kauai, the incredible Na Pali Coast from the Pacific Ocean. Along this spectacular coastline, you can walk at the top amongst velvet green cliffs towering into the sky and cascading waterfalls plummeting into deep, narrow valleys. Cliffs rising as high as 4,000 feet are accessible along the beautiful Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast. Hiking, cruise ship, helicopter or rafting trips offer spectacular views of the region where many believe that the Na Pali spirits can play tricks on hikers and campers alike. Some historians claim that the Na Pali region was the first part of Kauai to be settled.

The only land access to this enchanted place is via the Kalalau Trail, an 11-mile trail that crosses five different valleys and ends at secluded Kalalau Beach. The hike into Kalalau is often challenging, and sometimes even dangerous, with narrow sections and heavy rainfall that can make the topsoil muddy.
