Photographer’s Note

One of the first views at the State Fair. The sun was setting as we arrived and if it hadn't taken so long to find a parking place, I'd have had more light for longer. :)) I liked the peacefulness of this scene. People riding slowly overhead, above all the noise and mayhem, a tiny sliver of moon shining in the evening sky. It was a really lovely evening. Hope you enjoy it.

As far as I'm concerned I'm glad that you were late!
It allows us to appreciate only silhouettes, people and mechanics
And ... the moon, which makes quite a difference here

Hi Shelly,
Quite a nice shot you have here. In French hey call it 'ombres chinoises' (Chinese shadows). The gondolas are nicely silhouetted against the bluish sky. I like it a lot.

Hi Shelly.
I liked the title, and was glad to see how apt it is when I opened up the thumbnail. An interesting and quite atmospheric shadow play, with the big wheel nicely filling space in the bottom right quarter to balance the sliver of moon. Sharp silhouettes against a very soft gradient, capturing nicely the early evening mood.

Those silhouettes look really cool against darkening blue sky. Good combination of diagonal and round objects. The moon is of course bonus.

I love the graphism of this shot.A diagonal line of cars and the semi circle of the ferris wheels offer a well balnced compo. There is something magical about this image. I can imagine it being used as an ilustration for a children's book of poems.
