From a Ferris Wheel at the State Fair Photo

Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken from atop a Ferris wheel overlooking the South Carolina State Fair. It is huge. They had at least two if not three (or four) Ferris wheels, a gigantic midway, rides for days and I think we walked for miles..:))) And had a great time!

I knew it would get dark before we got home, so took along my 85mm prime lens because it's fast. I'm always surprised what a great job it does on stuff besides portraits and I rarely use it for much else. I took a bunch of shots (well, not too many - my battery was low and I forgot my spare) but I was pretty happy with this shot. Hope you enjoy it.

Très belle ambiance colorée sur fond noir. J'aime beaucoup la multitude de points lumineux dispersés dans le cadre. C'est très réussi à mon goût.

Amazing how you were able to capture this from the Ferris wheel. thank goodness for that F1.8 and 125 shutter - great lens!

even the light on the cars is visable.

A pretty success this photograph and yet the conditions of catch of sight did not seem easy. A good management of all these lights restoring the festive atmosphere. Now my giddiness prohibits to me this kind of photograph !!! Well done Shelly.
