Photographer’s Note

"Photography is an art form. Can you tell an artist painter what he/she cannot do with his/her paint brush?" - Anonymous

This old sugar mill is a daily reminder of the past when sugar was the primary cash crop on Kauai. Koloa was one of the biggest producers. Now it is a "ghost town".

This was taken from outside of the Old Koloa Town's sugar mill. We were not given permission to get inside. It would have been a better photo opportunity. This sugar mill has been used as setting for several films. The most known are the series of the "Raiders of the Lost Ark". The inside would have been interesting with its conveyor belts, old huge machineries and it's old industrial architecture.
