Photographer’s Note
Early dawn at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This is the shipwreck of the Sitka, I believe, a masted ship that went down in the 1800's near the Au Sable Point light. The remains are located in just a few feet of water right on the beach. I hiked a good ways along the shore in the blackness of a cloudy night to get to this spot by dawn. I didn't know the exact location, so I was constantly pointing my headlamp out into the water, hoping to find it. I came across it just as the first light coming out. The dark clouds and long exposure really brought out the color of the Lake Superior waters. I shot a number of compositions as the light grew stronger, some of which I'm quite happy with. Compositionally, this isn't the strongest; however, I really liked the colors in the water. A CPL as well as a 2-stop hard NDG were used. Thanks for looking!
Note: I realize there is some lens distortion that is pretty obvious on the horizon, I just haven't gotten around to correcting it yet.

Hello Ben,
this picture has a fantastic blue and mysterious atmosphere. It could be from a movie like The Lord of the Rings, or something epic like that.
Those iron (I suppose) poles coming out from the blurred water add something very special to the image.
I see you have a great landscape gallery. You have a very good technique too

Hello Ben,
An almost abstract view that raises curiosity and admiration for the wealth of blue colour shades.
Regards,
Paul
