SYMPHONY OF COLORS II

Over a year ago I had submitted a simple shot, Symphony of Colors I, featuring the colors of a fruit seller’s cart on the Isle of Capri. The present photo is meant to be a sequel, and celebrate the colors of flowers — including examples of the beonia, coleus, and ‘mother-in-law tongue.’ The site is the front of a restaurant in Williamsburg, Virginia. Williamsburg is a historic town in Virginia, once the capitol of the British Colony of Virginia. It is also the site of the second oldest university in the United States, William and Mary, founded in 1693 (Harvard, founded in 1635 being the oldest).

I shot the photo during a break from the heavy rainfall when the sky brightened up briefly. The droplets of water can be seen on the red petals.

A NOTE OF GRATITUDE: I AM WELL VERSED ON THE 'A-SUBJECTS,' ART, ARCHAEOLOGY AND ATOMIC PHYSICS, BUT KNOW VIRTUALLY NOTHING ABOUT THE 'B-SUBJECTS,' BANKING, BUSINESS AND BOTANY. I AM DELIGHTED THAT MY NOTE BROUGHT OUT DISCUSSIONS REGARDING THE SPECIES OF THE VARIOUS FLOWERS.
