This is almost a monochromatic pix, but in this case the color of the men's faces really adds impact. I like your capturing of the lines of this escalator(s) (?). And the textures of what looks like marble is nicely done.

Hi Isabelle, Lines, lines, lines, big diagonals with two people in it (and something yellowish), espescially the man point is great and makes ME want to know what he is pointing at. I like the diferent tones of the grey, and that bit of sunlight on it.
Be careful, you might get hooked on a camera like that!

Classic Isabel! The geometry of the striated walls broken by strong lines of the staircases creates a frame for the two characters you've captured, one of whom becomes the focus of the composition by raising his arm to point toward... We'll never know and you'll never tell... ;-) Simple, yet thought provoking, like most of your images Isabel. Because the image seems a bit flat, which may be what you prefer, I downloaded a copy to see if I could brighten it a bit. I posted a workshop. See what you think.
I look forward to more of these momentos of Washington D.C. Nice to see your work on the board once again.

I wouldn't see any problem calling that shot a "decisive moment" because you exactly captured the fraction of time that permitted you to transformed a fun view into an instant classic shot, with the help of that guy pointing his arm beyond the photo frame (and which we will agree makes him look quite silly....).
Otherwise, you also attracted your luck getting the guy below at the exact angle of the stairs... but great photos are also made of luck...
I just regret that a blond woman hairdo is poking above the stairs, just behind the second guy.

wow, absolutely a great moment, a great decisive moment - those guys are perfectly positioned. just this blone hair there is a small flaw... very original picture!

Hi Isabelle, very distinctive shot in your style. This looks almost B&W, with the large expanse of concrete. Great the way you've caught the guy pointing, at the same time as the other one wlaking in the opposite direction. It'd be interesting to know which of these camera's you're using for which shot, indeed, lucky you.

Your photo show the balance of fascination and fear that grande architecture like this lives on.
The huge mases of stone, finely proportioned and textured, indifferent to the small figures climbing about, like a barren mountain.
The lines are superb, especially the black shadow running along the upper part of the staircase and culminating in the black silhouette of the man who sends it off in a new direction, full of energy. In fact his gesture fights the oppresion inherent in the massive stones and brings some hope to balance the image, in my favs!

The surfaces and lines here would be almost enough by themselves. And the two humans are of course good to have for scale and presence. The best part however is the striking contradiction in the directions of the men both showing a determination to have it his own way.

Boa luz e texturas.

Great artistic shot, I like this a lot. I like the fact that the two men are facing opposite directions, as well as the squares which make the photo a bit more interesting to look at.

oh yeah
this is a very very good photograph isabelle
i think the fact that the man above is pointing out of the frame is really good for the photograph... don't ask me why? i'm bad at describing all this.
but yeha this is a very good photograph
what is that reddish area on the upper half of the frame doing? was it there? or is it just on the photograph
take care :)

Excellent geometry and textures. The picture would be nothing without those two people, and the pointing man adds some mystery. You inspire me to look for such geometrical compositions.

Great geometry and very humorous with the man pointing and the other guy with just a head. Wonderful take!

Hi!
I like this shot too. From far away you could think it's B&W but the 2 heads give life to the architecture. I wish there was not the ?hair? of someone following the guy going done. Maybe a bit of photoshop could fix it.

Hi Isabelle.
Simple and clear. And also very good this one.
The lines drawed on the picture makes of this one a different and original picture. The colours are also good and the heads add a fun and interesting element.
Very nice work.
