Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken in the Antelope Canyon, near Page, Arizona. This is probably one of the most photogenic places in the world, and judging by the number of photographers I saw during my visit, lots of people agree with me. For this shot, I tried to create something slightly more interesting than most shots you could get from there, by making my friend the subject, and trying to position him in the beam of light.
The canyon is just 3 min drive away from Page, Arizona, and only 5 mins away from another awesome and photogenic place - The Horseshoe Bend, where Colorado River makes 180 degree turn in a canyon (see my previous photo). Navajo Indians are supervising the place, and you'll be charged around $25 to enter. It's worth it though!
ps. This is the canyon where 11 French tourists were killed by a flash flood in 1997, as they attempted an unsupervised visit.

Hi Boris,
what a perfect sharpness and light management.
I have been there too...but...I had neither a tripod nor a reflex...and I also was so unexperienced.
this is a shot that - IMO - could belong to book for photo-teaching
well done

Hi Boris,
Very special place. Vertical framing fits well. And you have really captured colours of stone well. Man looking up gives idea of scale, and adds to feeling of being there, wondering miracles of nature.

You handled these extreme lighting conditions with touch of an artist. Great shot....I hope to visit this spot next month.
Cheers!
