Photographer’s Note

Ocean Beach (OB) is the real California Beach Town, in the words of the resident and TE member Pat Lim (plimrn). OB is a neighborhood of San Diego, California, but the community has a distinct feeling of its own. According to Wikipedia, Ocean Beach was once known as the Haight-Ashbury of San Diego and the community became an attraction for hippies.
Ocean Beach, with stretches of sand, a retro downtown and a laid-back attitude. This groovy spot, fondly known as the People's Republic of Ocean Beach, retains its '60s vibe and that era's strong emphasis on community. (LA Times.)
My photo is just a postcard of the beach. There were not many people on the beach this afternoon of the last Saturday of April. I didn't shot while surfing; my POV is from the Ocean Beach Municipal Pier.
The Californian beaches are famous worldwide, I think that at least the sand is better on Portuguese beaches.
See also Pat's gallery of nice OB pictures.
Location of the beach in WikiMapia: 32.7488112, -117.2529763.
