Beautiful Velvia colors here, the sky in particular. I'm somewhat surprised about the excellent exposure despite significant luminosity differences in the image. Maybe it's just my monitor, but it seems to me that some sharpness got lost during the conversion to digital. Why posting in such a small size again?

Hello Kurt, your polarizer did a good job even though the colors are a little bit too contrasted, especially the blue of the sky that is quite dark.
The yellow colors of the trees are really well rendered.
Nice composition. I like it.

This is an eye catching punchy shot. I think you chose a strong composition. In my opinion I think the only thing that lets it down a little is the river. Its looking very dark. Next time you could try using an nd-grad, or even lighting up that section in Photoshop, if thats your thing.
Adam.
