Texas Tech University: Evening Edition Photo

Photographer’s Note

I am trying to show off how beautiful my university is. One day I was working at the library, and after it closed at 8PM, I came out and saw the sky with amazing light and colors. It was magical with the other part of the sky is so dark and the sunset lights showed up unexpectedly. I was so excited because I was lucky to bring my camera with me. I walked around the campus and tried to find a spot where I think would sell like this one ;-) This picture was taken at 8:37PM.

This is the symbol tower of Texas Tech University. It was established in 1923 as the Texas Techological College, and later to TTU. Students: 25,000. Located in Lubbock, Texas, a home of Buddy Holly.

Soksabai Sothy,
it is a beautiful night shot, I like the light and clarity of hte tower, very nicely illuminated with warm tone. I do like the silhoutte of the tree, but I wish the they are not so overgrown and cover up too much of the buildings. the other part of the tower on the left is so divided and disconnect with the main tower. Otherwise technically good quality image. Thanks.

Hi Sothy,

Good to see you man, how you're doing. I see you are still in Texas.
A good shot, although a bit dark in the sky, but the balance with the little red tower on the left makes the shot complete.
I know it cost something, but please consider buying that 17-40m/m, you won't regret that.

Hi Sothy,
I remember well how this university has inspired you in other occasions. Here you have done a great job with the light, those towers reminiscent of old European church bells stand out wonderfully in its orange against the greenish black of the sky and the silhouettes of the trees. However, I find that the towers are too close to the edges and make most of the image look empty. Anyway, it's still a great photo.
