Photographer’s Note
Taken at Second Beach near La Push Washington. We think the lines are caused by the effect of the tide and small rocks under the sand. Whatever the cause the result is very interesting. The coast here in the northern part of Washington State is very rugged and wild with impressive rock formations. We saw Gray whales passing by and waving their flippers in the air. You can see this from the beach from March through April. La Push is a very beautiful region with lots of hiking trails along the beach.

Hi Mary!
What an interesting post! I love the graphic design of the formations on the sand! Isn't Nature an incredible artist?
Then there is your note which makes me envy you!
I have never seen a whale in all my life!
Thanks for sharing, and I hope you are having a great time!
Marie Louise.

Mary,
Very subtle patterns, well captured, and the inclusion of the point at which the pattern varies - in the top right - also adds to the image, making it part of something greater. As if these lines were an artistic interpritation, a relief carving, of rays emanating from a giant sun.
These windy Washington beaches have a habit of producing interesting patterns - for the observant eye! :)
Worthwhile.
Cheers
Colin
