Photographer’s Note
Oh, the waters flow over rock and stone
O'er the waters blow windy wind so cold
Oh, the rivers flow so old
Oh, the rivers flow so old.
O'er the rivers fly stately kingfishers
Through the waters swim stickleback fishes
Oh, the rivers flow so old
Oh, the rivers flow so old.
Oh, the waters flow over rock and stone
Through the waters swim stickleback fishes
Oh, the rivers flow so old
Through the rivers swim so old
Oh, the rivers flow so old.
Ooh.

Tom,
This is a very cold looking image. Your composition is fine using the partially frozen river to lead the eye into the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The vertical framing worked well here giving the scene excellent depth.

Hi Tom
belle présentation de nos hivers d'Amérique du Nord, cette rivière partiellement gelée laisse voir encore l'eau libre, très beau paysage hivernal dans un beau ciel tout bleu.

Hi Tom,
Great capture of the river this photo reminds me of the Yakima river central Washington at this time of year. In this photo you can feel cold there, Great POV and the lighting and colors are perfect. The white snow along the river among the trees is a great capture and also the wonderful blue sky, Great job Tom.

Hello Tom,
I read one of your critique that you are finishing all coal bags this night. Quit to jump to dairy business, come here. You'll not need any bag of coals never, except for your BBQ if you are enjoying but I'm not.
Amazing upper view of wintry scene while the river laying extraordinarily between snowy grounds and dried trees. The lyric adds great value, congratulations.

Hi, Tom.
On one side nice and intimate, lovely wintery landscape with the river leading the eye deep into the view, a fine display of lighting and colors, the cracks in the snow... on the other : you can really feel the COLD in this one!
I just read in your latest visit you guys soon gonna be in real heavy sub-zero F. temperatures, brrrrrr.... Oh, well... I'm sure B&G couldn't care less, and the same applies to my own critter : given the chance he ROLLS in snow!
Have a great day, y'all. STAY WARM!
See ya soon,
Fulvio.

Hello Tom,
I like the way the river curves across the landscape to disappear in front of the wooded hill. Good composition complemented by excellent light and tones.

Hi Tom.
Good choice of a vertical frame here. The DOF is excellent and the river leads the eye into this beautiful piece of scenery.

Hello Tom,
Brr! The curve of the river makes a good aspect to lead the eyes on a journey round the snowy banks and icy cracks, into the snowy valley.
Despite the clear sky, there is a pervading atmosphere of chill and lonesome adventure.
A thrilling place to experience.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

It really looks like a wild place! the river turn with the snow in the foreground with its dark waters gives a good sense of depth and counterbalance the sky. As in most of your photos the light is special: it makes everything sparkle.
A fine view.

Your high POV gave you a chance to look down on the river to show the patterns made by the iced snow on the rocks, and utilise the lead-in properties of the river. The winter light is good but we cannot mistake the fact this is a COLD scene.

Mostly I like the light on the snow and the resulting texture. A magnificent view of the winter landscape with great colors.

Nice image Tom, this is really what winter is all about up in this part of the country. Color and detail are awesome and the angle you chose is superb.
