Photographer’s Note

This is the trail at the Gerritsen Creek Saltmarsh in Brooklyn New York.

As Brooklyn's largest park, Marine Park has plenty of room to serve a lot of needs.

Environmentally, it consists of 530 acres of grassland and precious salt marsh, protected as a Forever Wild preserve. The Urban Park Rangers present bushels of educational and fun activities in its Salt Marsh Nature Center each week, and interested, independent visitors can wander along the Gerritsen Creek Nature Trail to observe unique regional flora and fauna.

Recreationally, the park offers amenities as varied as a golf course, bocce courts, cricket fields, and baseball diamonds, to name but a few. The park also contains multiple playgrounds, bicycle greenways, and a launch and landing site for canoes and kayaks at Gerritsen inlet.

Hi Angela,
A very tranquil image with fine light and peaceful winter shadows.
Looks like a fine place to take a winter hike and shake that old cabin fever.

Another one of the nice winter scene, I heard it's been a very cold winter with many storms. In thise shot it actually kind of looks like white sand with the soft sun light. Very beautiful I wish you would have been the first to be there to take photo of it with out foot steps on the snow yet.

Hi Angela,

lovely winter scene. The two-way snowed pathway works very well as the element in the foreground. I also like the inclusion of the fence at the right. It has all that particular atmosphere...well done!
