This is a snowy trailk through the Edith G Read Sanctuary in Rye NY.

Edith Read Sanctuary is one of the top places to bird in Westchester County. It's part of the Westchester County parks system. (914) 967-8720

A spotting scope is useful here to pick out birds on the lake and sound. Large concentration of waterfowl in winter, large winter Great Blue Heron roost. Sound has wintering loons, grebes, Long-tailed Duck, Common Goldeneye. Scoters and Northern Gannet are most often seen in late winter, early spring. The sanctuary has yielded many rarities including Snow Bunting, Snowy Owl, Barrows Goldeneye, Red-necked Grebe, Eared Grebe.

The sanctuary adjoins Playland Amusement Park off U.S. Route 1 in Rye.

Well it's nice to see that you're very active and is still out there in the cold taking picture and hiking around. Very nice pristine wilderness. Okay it will look more relaxing and remote if the trail is not full of foot prints. Regardless, it's still a very nice shot. Thanks

Wondering through the woods in winter scenery like this can often land some good surprises for photography and it is good to see that you are out in the cold on this sunny day hunting for subjects and taking a good walk.

Nice winter scene of the park showing the trail on the snow cover. The large tree trunks with their color tone give you a nice contrast and feature for the plain white snow.

Lovely look into the sleeping woodland that enjoys a beautiful carpet of freshly fallen Jan. snow.
