San Miguel Mission is the oldest church still standing in the U.S., built between 1610 and 1626 in Santa Fe's Barrio De Analco Historic District. The Native Americans damaged the church during the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 and it was restored in 1710 following the reconquest by Spanish soldiers and served as their chapel. Inside the beautiful wooden reredos include a 1709 wood statue of Saint Michael added in 1798.
Rain is the continuing nemesis of San Miguel and the adobe has to be repaired occasionally. Sunday mass is still held at the Church.

Interesting church with a very special architecture. A fine picture and an interesting note. Being restored in 1710 still makes this church very old.
