Photographer’s Note
McWay Falls is located inside Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. This state park is located along Hwy 1, halfway between Big Sur and Cambria to the South. As Peter says, sunset is the best time, but we were here fairly early in morning, unlike Phuoc, who captured the only sunset work in Peter's McWay Falls theme.
Much of this park was closed when we were there, due to fire damage; given the gov's rampage, it may never be open again.

Hello Pat,
A wonderful place, very impressive. An excellent view too with a POV very well selected, the details of the sea very well collected. The way invites to discovery. I like too the lement of red with the flowders which arise very well in the image.
Best regards,

Hello Pat! I am sitting at the airport in Grand Junction/Co waiting that the sun comes back and that we can fly again, I mean you could but it is nicer with some sunlight I guess. A lovely photo, Pat, the flowers are just right to add some additional color but also to give depth. It looks very steep reminding me of our yesterday's hike in the Moab area where I had to return, I was afraid to fall down ... LOL. Beautiful spot you discovered for us, what a special treat! Best regards ... Barbara.

Hello Pat -
This scene is always great to look at and wish that you could get down to the beach. Even though sunset is the desirable time, anytime the light is good or manageable take the shot. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Pat,
I like this rugged coastline landscape shot, and the waterfall being featured is important even though easy to miss. And I think including the colorful flowers on the left is a nice added touch. good work and TFS. Gerald

Hello Patricia,
I missed this in 2006...can you believe that..!!!
I have seen many pictures from this fall, but somewhere in my mind i forgot to visit it...what a shame. That little fall is so photogenic, looks great in his surrounding. Tell me, i only see pictures from above, is there no chance to go down and shoot from the beach?

Henk

Hi Pat. Hope all is well. Great photo, wonderful view and beautifully captured. I love the way you have added the wildflowers to the left, nice contrasting colours and added depth. Well timed with the wave washing up the beach also. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Pat
An excellent view from above. I will agree that sunsets fire the best colors, but yet you can't hang around one place when you are on the road. Excellent framing and sharp
Have a lovely day and TFS

Hi Pat
I can see why you would favour the evening light but a beautiful shot nonetheless. It is an unusual place to fine a waterfall. I hope the gevernment reconsiders and reopens the park.

hi Pat,
I like a lot how super-clear and sharp everything is, it manages to add to the somewhat surreal feeling I get looking at this photo, since it is fairly difficult to judge the scale. I really like it, especially the flowers in the foreground that make me feel like Gulliver in Lilliput :)

Hi Pat,
Backlight with shadows works surprisingly well on this one giving quite contrasty view. Those flowers on fg are nice details. The waterfall looks quite tiny from this excellent high viewpoint.

Hi Pat,
very beautiful place! The fall is amazing. I never saw a fall that ends in a beach.
Pretty lights and sharp.

Very dramatic POV. The strong light improves the beautiful flowers in foreground.

I like this POV allowing for gorgeous comparison of the natural colors, especially the deep blue against the emerald in the water entrances me. Maybe, just maybe, I wish for a tad more of that foreground object (the flower).
An enchanted place.

Hi Pat,
I discovered this fascinating beach and waterfall here in TE, if I am not mistaken, by a post of Peter Boehringer. Contrarily to many, sometimes I like this harsh light, specially when if is well tamed as here (well, maybe the shadows are too dark), because they have a very natural appearance, at least to someone like me who likes much the strong sun light of Southern latitudes.
The view is amazing and you did a wonderful compo with it. The red plants on the left are, of course, a bonus.

José

Hi Pat,
Splendid view down to this wonderfully sheltered beach and lovely falls.
Love the varying shades of green and blue to the sea and the splendid orange foreground plants.
What did Arnold do to cause such concern? I'm just back from 2 weeks in Maine and notice the big difference between the east coast and west coast beaches.

Hi Pat,
Its great to see you again after so long and I hope I find you and yours well. Sadly haven't had much time lately for this pleasant and relaxing hobby. This one caught my eye as I dont think I've seen many images of a permanent water fall dropping into the ocean....quite an unusual sight. Thanks for sharing and I hope to have time to drop by again.

Hi Pat,
An appreciable panoramic format to show us this interesting place which, unfortunately, underwent fires but which seems to take again colors as I see with the flowers of the foreground. This water fall, which goes to the ocean, is impressive, and gives a single character to the place. Beautiful photograph, thank you Pat.
With all my friendships and with soon,

Hello Pat
From your high POV, the falls look quite impressive. But the setting is even more gorgeous with the rocks jutting into the blue sea waters. Like the little toch of the red flowers on the left. You have obviously cropped the picture, but it works well that way! How high is the falls, as from here it does not appear to high!
Best Regards

Hello Pat,
This looks like a lovely place!
A fine sandy beach, sheltered from the sea and with private built-in shower - what more can you expect...
I like the framing and inclusion of the red flowers adding some colour contrast to the seaside scene!

Beautiful shot Pat. Hopefully we will get to see this view next year, as long as the fog stays away. John is sending maps so we will be able to make plans soon. It looks like a unique location with the falls on the beach. You framed the image well with the inclusion of the flowers (crocosmia?)
Have you decided on the boat yet?

Hello Pat!
That's a very interesting and truly beautiful picture!
The place McWay Falls is located is unique and I really like that! One more place I'd love to see one day myself! The high pov was privileged so you could include other eye-catching elements in that rocky coastline!
TFS - congratulations!
My warmest regards,
