Photographer’s Note
"Now comes the gloaming. The alpenglow is fading into earthy, murky gloom, but do not let your town habits draw you away to the hotel. Stay on this good fire-mountain and spend the night among the stars. Watch their glorious bloom until the dawn, and get one more baptism of light. Then with fresh heart, go down to your work, and whatever your fate, under whatever ignorance or knowledge you may have afterward chance to suffer, you will remember these fine, wild views, and look back with joy to your wanderings in the blessed old Yellowstone Wonderland."
---- JOHN MUIR
One of my favorite National Parks, Yellowstone is also a favorite of many others who come here from not only all over the United States, but from around the world. I avoid the summer and prefer the fall when the sun is lower and the crowds smaller. This image is Castle Geyser. I focused on the bacterial mat which is interesting for its details and colors.

Very nicely captured. It has a great deal of 3d depth. Reflections are nice too. TFS

Hello Ray,
Your photograph and the accompanying note comprise a classic for Trekearth. The quote from John Muir itself is a wonderful addition. The composition, light management, colors and resolution all collaborate to make the image quite extraordinary. Many thanks for the lesson.
Warm regards,

Hello Ray,
I believe that geysers are very interesting and beautiful natural phenomena. But you have managed capturing one of them in such angle that makes it looking even more beautiful. Really splendid foreground!
With Labor Day greetings,
