Photographer’s Note
This is the north face of the 11,901' (3627.4m) Nez Perce Peak (pronounced "nay-pursay") in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. It is named after the the tribe of Indians who hunted the territory near the Teton Range.
I took this shot while dealing with altitude sickness after hiking in with WAY to much gear. I spent the previous night in the Petzolt caves trying not to be sick and listening to two marmots just outside the cave entrance fight all night long.
This was shot as a jpeg, then processed with PS's camera raw tool with curves, sharpening, color adjustments, split-toning, then brought into PS for black & white layer, curves, toning, and finally edge burning.
I worked hard not to lose any detail in the shadows or highlights as I think one can get too carried away with getting these areas too dark or light. I'm also pleased with the slight gradient in the sky.
Please tell me what you think!
