Photographer’s Note
This was a scan from a slide taken in 1990 when the Yellowstone River was at its peak spring run-off. The day we arrived (June 15) it started to snow and you can see the remnants on the side of the canyon.

Hello Phil. I love how the trees on the lower right allow me to comprehend the magnitude and scale of this falls. A very well taken capture with excellent lighting throughout.

Hi Phil,
Interesting rock feature as the water has cut though it over time. The scan is very good in my opinion as you managed to get good details and colours. Your point of view effective to show us the water stream and the face it run down. Thanks Phil :-)

Hi Phil,
Beautiful waterfall! I like the lighting here very much and the details. As Paul mentions, I like the trees in the right corner as well, this really gives me an idea how big these waterfalls really are. Great POV and wonderful details. Great work!

Ann

Hi Phil,
Wonderful closeup of the impressive falls. Nice interaction between shadow and light. Including the trees gives a good idea of the scale. Good scan, too - my scans of older pictures often turn out pretty bad...

Hi, Phil.
Great close-up of an indisputed western classic and GREAT quality for a 1990 scan. Been a long time since I've been here, it was foggy and snowing, the waterfalls barely visible... Have a good day, buddy. I'll be seeing you.
Fulvio.

Hi Phil,
Where exactly are these falls - look quite like Artist Point but I think not? Good capture at peak runoff season. WEll done and TFS. Gerald

Hello Phil!
Excellent nature photography, excellent POV, greatly balanced composition and framing! Great exposure, I would prefer a "warmer" White Balance! Anyway, an impressive photo! Congratulations!

Hi Phil,
This one must of been shot just after the great fire in Yellowstone.
You have really captured the raw power of this great falls.
I like the tight cropping at the top and the rich texture to the canyon wall.
Regards, Tom

Dang, Phil,
that turned out awfully well for a scan so old. What a view! I love the way the rocks open that way to form the falls. Beautiful light, unbelievable detail for the age of the slide and great color. Man, this is just beautiful! Fantastic shot. Many thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

Hello Phil,
Beautiful waterfall with an incredible force of water. I guess the heat of the water should be deafening, all delicious. Wonderful light and details.

Hi Phil:
The more shots I see of these falls in the afternoon, the more I realize that I should have gone then. I went in the morning, but the more dramatic lighting appears to be in the afternoon. Fantastic composition and great management of the light. The image seems a bit on the cold side, but not unduly so. I like it.

Hi Phil. One can almost hear the roar of the water plummeting. You caught the power and energy most vividly. The pines in the bottom corner give us some idea of the scale of the topography. Lovely light on the left and upper middle. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi,
You have a great range of subtle colours here, especially across the rock faces. The tones in the water are also perfectly captured. Quite an amazing place. Thanks,
Dougie.
