The third spring terrace I’m going to post is Canary Spring. The picture was taken when the light condition was very favorable in the early morning.
Walking toward Canary Spring, you can see pools ringed with hanging stalactites. When water pours from the spring to the scallop-edged terracettes below, microorganisms growing in the water create beautiful colored effects. In recent years, this spring has become the most exciting at Mammoth for observers. (Online Source)

Nice use of the lovely morning light to bring out the beauty of this geyser. The steam coming out of the geyser has created a nice atmosphere along with this wonderful light. Is this frost or limestone/calcium deposit from the hot spring? Most probably it will be the later as the photo is taken in September. Nice photo with natural light and colour. Thanks for sharing.

What a very beautiful and a very strange landscapeThat's really an impressive scenery. The steam of the geyser creates misterious atmosphere.
And the withering of the trees, on the foreground ,seems to be an image of the wild nature.
Very pleasant light and colors.
I like the frame too.

Fantastic view of wonder nature's, Tiffany, "boiling" vapors under the beautiful morning light.
A true & unique advanture to walk along.
Superb clear shot, and naked stumps in fine contrast.

An image one has to study a while to really appreciate, without your own input, I'd have found it difficult to know what I am seeing. I'll wager this looks fabulous
so delicate with the colours showing through the steam that you really captures an alien environment, unreal absolutely out of this world!! What fascinates me here is the way soft and hard merge, become similar in texture and great that those dead trees provide excellent reference to size. The spring and mist seem to be flowing like the water and the pastel colours are outstanding, this is indeed a great experience being there and so much to absorb. This image knocked my sockes off, Tiffany, Such delicacy! Congrats and tfs

just jealous that you could witness such a beautiful landscape. What a splendid view with all the elements of the composition placed perfectly and with right proportions. The chosen POV allows to look at the slope through couple of trees which add very much to the final result. The colors are excellent and contrast well given.
Thanks so much for sharing this stunning photo!

What a strange landscape - if it were not for the patterns on the ground (and the mist of the spring), I would think that I was looking at a picture of Canada in the dead of winter. The early morning light is pleasant indeed and you have composed the scene cleverly as to force the viewer to take a good long look at this outer-worldly place.

a fascinating shot this. Minimalist in composition and strangely eerie in concept, but it has an alien beauty about it and looks amazing. Original and eye-catching imagery! I like it a lot!
Enjoy the weekend - B.

What a beautiful name for a spring!
Wonderful shot of a special natural phenomenon.
I really like the luminosity of this picture with the dark brown trunks and the branches contrasting with the white surrounding.
Best regards, Paul

Fine Mammoth Canary Spring view for the low angle lighting avoiding a 'white out' from the radiant formation, with the heated air rising, and contrasting dead tree trunks embedded.

Ce blanc porte a confusion, l'on dirait de la neige, belle scène matinale d'une douce lumière et la brume qui s'en va comme de la vapeur, belle composition
