Morning Glory Pool is a hot spring in the Upper Geyser Basin. It marks the far end of the basin. This hot spring was named for its likeness to its namesake flower. The distinct color of the pool is due to bacteria which inhabit the water.

This is a new learning that the bacteria is causing the distinct colours in this Morning glory Pool.
A highly informative note associated with a quality photograph.

at first, I assumed a physical phenomenon of optical diffraction, but the cause seems to be a biological one. Anyway: how can bacteria change the colour of the water with growing depth?

This is really a stunning and very beautiful natural phenomenon!
With contrasting colours at the same time.
The dark hole in the middle of the pool looks very mysterious. Can one estimate how deep this hole is?
Also beautiful are the reflections of the trees and of the wooden fence on the water surface.
Best regards, Paul

Tous mes compliments,

Lovely and sharp capture of this beautiful hot spring. The natural colors are really amazing; it looks like a rare jewel. I like the reflections on the top portion of the water, and the bit of wooden deck that you chose to include.

Amazing pure colors of the nature in circles, but it's a pity you cut the outer one mainly at left.
