Photographer’s Note
Here stands a uniquely placed, relatively small and quite dramatic range of mountains residing against the Wyoming boarder. The youngest within the range of Rocky Mountain outcroppings, Grand Teton - the highest of the three peaks - stands at 4198 meters.
Tradition has it that the Tetons were named by a French fur trapper, who viewed them from the Idaho side or the range, calling them 'tetons'; French slang for "breasts" (presumably referring to their shape).
