Photographer’s Note
Snake River Overlook, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
It had rained throughout the afternoon before and continued with thunder, lightning, and plenty of rain during most of the night. In the morning fog was thick and heavy along the Snake River making for some really dull images at sunrise. This image was taken about an hour after the sun rose at the Snake River Overlook where Ansel Adams made his famous image of the Teton Range.

John,
This is a very nice picture! I like the framing you have done to it also. The composition is magnificent with the tall mountains, blue sky and lake, and the bit of fog. Very nice. I also like how you added the dark trees in the foreground, it adds depth to the photo.
Thanks for sharing,
Katie

Fantastic shot John!
Your composition in Grand Teton National Park is again beautiful. I like contrast between fog over the Snake river, moutain and sky. Great POV, light and DOF. I love the colors in your photo and note is good too.
I enjoy it a lot and thanks for sharing!

You must have a fantastic scanner as I would never have known but just noticed it was film.
This is another fine mountain view. The mist is tantalising as it makes us really look and try and figure out the shot. I assume the blue at the bottom is the reflected sky in the river. Beautiful!

Very nice shot John. Very good composition. I like the colours also. Mountains look a little fuzzy? Trees in foreground help give a sense of depth and distance. Well done!

Hi John
I would say that I have trekked quite extensively in the Himalayas and never have I been able to capture a scene like this with clouds in the valley ...
I like it very much ... I would have liked to see a bit more sharpness, besides that there is no suggestion that I can offer you
tfs .. cheers ... sarju

Hi John,
I like misty and fog, also low clouds above the river, specially atmosphere always, edge to righthand give nice perspective, but the moutains in background against the blue sky make your image very attractive.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hi John,
A superb landscape shot. The fog is well captured and enhancing, including the little ridge in mid-frame. Your scanner served you well here, as the resolution is remarkably good. It also appears that you made good use of a polarizer. The framing is excellent.
Very fine work, John.

Beautiful photo of an amazing place. The timing (fog) and the POV are perfect. I think though that it would work better if you had aimed a little lower and had less sky keeping the mountains on the line of the first third. Ggreat work anyway, TFS.

Yesss, I know. 8-)
I've been there... and I love it.
Adams' classical picture is one of those images that make people get interest in photography, and in nature.
I'm looking forward to going there again, and I hope I can get the king of lihgt you got.
Congratulations.

That is certainly a very special moment to get a photograph of this view. The fog gives a nice dramatic view. Yes, the old master Ansel was almost everywhere and got the credit for the best shots. He certainly deserves it, but your is a very nice one too. I kust miss some sharpness. I guess that has to do again with the scanning process.

Hi John,
A great image over the Snake River at Grand Teton. Such an amazing place isn't it? You've captured this scene well and it looks like you were up fairly early to get it. Great composition.
The image itself is a bit unclear, but perhaps that is because it is a scan from a slide.
Great capture,
Brian
