Photographer’s Note
Oxbow Bends, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
A soft sunrise at the Oxbow Bends of the Snake River near the end of summer. We had a couple of days of rain and then a day without rain preceeding this image so there is a bit more moisture in the air, more than normal. I remember the fresh clean smells on the air that morning. And unlike other times I have been to this spot there was only one other photographer and we had a wonderful chat.
Now I have posted another image in the WS and I need your opinions. Both images are the same but this one was processed to remove the Velvia color cast while the WS was not. I kind of prefer the Velvia cast (WS image)it is a more colorful image and has a bit more mood to it, what do you think?

Fantastic shot John!
Your composition in Grand Teton National Park is beautiful. I like contrast between moutain, snow, clouds and sky. I love the colors in your photo and note is good too.
I enjoy it a lot and thanks for sharing!

I must show this to my husband. We have a difference of opinion film v digital. He always used to shoot with velvia and now he tells me I am cheating when I do some basic PP on my digital! This proves my point the velvia has made the scene look unnatural and I much prefer this one; the colours are beautiful.

Hi John, beautiful setting tor the sunrise with excellent light and some imressive mountains. I like the reflections on the water and the colours are nice but I prefer the saturated colours rendered by Velvia in the workshop. Well done!

Hi John,
A very well composed shot of this tranquil scene. As much as I like the Velvia colours, they are perhaps overdone and on balance I prefer this rendering - it is more subtle in its beauty. The little slice of foreground grasses to the right is enhancing. Very well done.

That's wonderful. Lovely reflections of the mountain in the lake. Excellent light on the peak in the background. I would love to see this place with my own eyes.
One of my favourites...
I prefer this one to the WS: the colour of the WS looks a bit unreal...

Hi John,
very nice sunrise with very warm colors. I like this composition with the reflection on this very calm water and with the highest mountains on the right. Great shot.

John,
I like this shot. The colors are nice and the scene is breathtaking. However, the WS is way better in my opinion. I really love the brilliance of the colors, it does add a nice mood and better contrast. The above photo is kind of dull in comparison.
Good shot though and excellent WS,
Katie

Comme tu pourrais le voir sur ma galerie, j' apprécie énormément ces effets "miroir".
Celui est particulièrement bien réussi de par sa composition et ses couleurs.
