Photographer’s Note
Barn on Mormon Row, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
This image was captured just two days after the Mormon Row image in my gallery. An early snow storm moved into the upper Rockies on Sunday evening coating everything with 2 inches of snow. Further into Yellowstone the storm put down a lot more snow but the roads were still open. One nice thing about this storm is that there were not a lot a people in the Grand Teton National Park nor Yellowstone National Park but the wildlife was abundant all day long.

Bonjour John,
Daniel.

Very nice picture with great composition and adequate exposition and definition. The sinuous "river" drives our sight along the whole image ..
Congratulations ..

Very nice frame. The house at a side and the river at the other making the right composition and symetry.

Very nice framing and composition, John, I like your placement of the creek in particular. Hard to believe it's already so wintry in some areas! Regards, Ken.

This must be the season's first show pic on TE. I recognise the barn. Good snow shot; that's a challenge-in-waiting for me. (if we get any)

hi John
I love the way the dark wood of the barn and the small brook contrasts with the white of the snow and sky ... excellent realisation with brilliant composition
thanks for sharing and showing us

Hi John,
This is a great capture of the snowy world that has swirled into Wyoming so early in the year. Superb composition, with the little stream meandering nicely through the frame and the quaint barn seen in all its rugged beauty. The wisps of mist in the background enhance and the trees still largely bare of snow add a touch of extra colour. Just first rate, John. I like this shot very much - its worth far more points than are on the board thus far.

Good evening John, this is a wonderfully captured and composed photograph. The brook neatly leads the eye into the heart of the image and those low wisps of cloud provide a perfect nuance. I would have cropped a little of the sky out to emphasise the barn more but I'm being fussy. Very, very nice. Stephen

Hi John
I like this winter shot, it looks very idyllic.
Your composition is perfect, the way you place the barn in the corner, and the nicely focused creek in the foreground works great.

This is a beautiful photo, I love the old barn and the snowy stream in the foreground. I like the little "clouds" of snowmist drifting in the wind above the trees as well. It is everything lovely about the winters in the Rocky mountains (except being snowed in I would bet) Great shot...the kind I hope to get someday.

Hello John,
A wonderful piece of Americana captured in this western mountain landscape. Very clear details to the old weather beaten barn with the small creek drawing a lovely line in the fresh snow. Excellent colors and sharpness to thsi fine photo. Happy, Healthy, Peaceful New Year to You and Your Family.

Hi John,
Great framing, wonderful light management;
I really like the way you captured such splendid detail through the snow with the clear barn in in the FG. The picture looks VERY true!! I've seen this barn many times. (we skied Grand Targhee for about 10 years I think 2006 was the lasty year we skied there.)
