Photographer’s Note
Snake River Overlook, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
This image was captured this morning from the same general location that Ansel Adams used in 1936 for his famous shot of the Snake River and the Teton Range. This is no Ansel Adams shot but the location is so spectacular one can not stop and try to capture the image. I arrived a the spot late, did not capture sunrise, but the light was still wonderful. There are so many places in this park that you need to be at sunrise it's almost impossible to catch them all. Thats why there is tomorrow - hope the weather holds.

Great shot. I soo much loved that spot. Definatly one of the "must have used" spots in the world. You captured the scenery very nicely. On my short visit there I tried a sunset at the same spot. You managed way better then I did :). Great job John.

Beautiful image John, with the yellow aspens(?)heralding autumn. Excellent viewpoint. It might be a much photographed location but I haven't seen it. Thanks.

Hi John , your POV and composition gives a good idea why it's called Snake River. The overlook with the winding path along the trees framing the river and the mountains in the far distance gives an awsome impression. The cloud adds a particular note to this shot.
Regards, Peter
