This was outside the EMP (experience music project), near the carnival area of the Seattle Center during the Bumbershoot music/arts festival. The building in the background (the EMP) was designed by Frank Gehry and is an interesting piece of art, with an endless array of views, angles, reflections, and colors. (You can see a distorted Space Needle in the reflection at the right side of the frame.)

This little boy captured my attention, sitting alone on the steps outside, looking up at a roller coaster, with his art project at his side. he looked so full of wonder and hope...
