Photographer’s Note
I've posted a photo or two of this trail before. This is part of the Chehalis Western Trail. It used to be a railroad line that was used to move timber to the water to be shipped. The railroad tracks were taken out and the trail was paved over for recreational use. No motor vehicles are allowed. On any given day you'll find people on foot with their kids and dogs, people on roller skates, bicycles, etc. I'm not quite sure how long it is, but I'd say about 20 to 30 miles. It connects Olympia with the towns of Rainier, Yelm, and Tenino.
